Snow Slide is an easy, very scenic route between Fawnskin and Green Valley Lake. The road traverses the ridge high above the south side of the Holcomb Creek watershed with spectacular views down into the creek canyon and the wilderness beyond. There is one steep section near the trail's high point that can be tricky for 2WD vehicles with an open diff. Otherwise the route is easy for any stock pickup truck or SUV with good clearance and sturdy tires. There are several turnoffs for interesting side trips to Grays Peak, Butler Peak and Crafts Peak. Snow Slide also makes part of a long, scenic, easy loop from Big Bear to Green Valley and back via Forest Road 3N16.
